Please read these terms carefully before using STI Clinic Australia's services.
STI Clinic Australia provides an online platform that allows users to complete a confidential health questionnaire, receive a pathology referral issued by an AHPRA-registered doctor, and arrange sexual health testing at participating pathology laboratories across Australia. By using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service.
To use this service, you must:
Upon successful payment, a pathology referral will be generated based on the information you provide and reviewed by an AHPRA-registered doctor. The referral is valid for use at participating pathology collection centres. It is your responsibility to attend a pathology lab to complete your testing — STI Clinic Australia does not perform sample collection directly.
The referral fee of $38.95 AUD is charged at the time of order and covers the cost of the questionnaire review, referral generation, and results notification service. Once a referral has been issued and emailed, it is generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us within 7 days.
Lab testing at participating pathology centres is bulk-billed via Medicare for eligible patients. STI Clinic Australia does not control individual pathology lab policies, wait times, or sample collection procedures. Any costs charged directly by a pathology provider outside of standard Medicare bulk-billing are the responsibility of the patient.
Results will be communicated via email and/or SMS within the timeframe stated on our website, which may vary based on individual pathology lab processing times. In the event of a positive result, a free telehealth consultation will be offered. This service does not replace ongoing medical care from a regular GP — we encourage all patients to maintain a relationship with a primary healthcare provider.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when using our service. Providing false information may affect the accuracy of your referral and the appropriateness of any tests ordered.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, STI Clinic Australia and its associated medical practitioners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this service, including delays caused by third-party pathology providers, postal services, or technical issues outside our reasonable control.
Your use of this service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal and health information.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
